purpose

The International Exhibition of Glass Kanazawa, first established in 1984 as the worldfs only international glass exhibition with public call for entry, celebrates its 10th memorial event in 2007. In each of the past events, the exhibition drew many excellent works from nearly 40 countries and has been highly recognized as a global showcase of the new trends in the world of glass art.

This exhibition has been convened for the purpose of breeding in Kanazawa new cultures and industries utilizing glass, as well as evoking creativity in other areas of arts/crafts and local industries. The executive committee hopes that this exhibition will help explore the potential of glass and look forward to receiving wide varieties of excellent glass works as ever, from daily utensils to new artistic expressions.
